The truth is, in less than a year, he has guided Amedica into some very smart directions. I don't know anything about a USS/Amedica deal, but if there is one, the company will have a complete spine solution with next-generation technology. Look at the deal Ben Shappley did with Nik Nikolaev and OMNI. That deal gets Amedica into the reconstructive space with a pioneer in orthopedics. I understand Amedica/OMNI will have a SiN hip system in the body by the end of the year. So, you losers can try to pick Shappley apart on here... but I would bet any of you that within two years, Amedica gets acquired for BIG MONEY by one of the majors and he and everyone else involved will be laughing all the way to the bank.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-126852961571725269.post-59514675700273126062010-09-19T13:26:33.983-07:002010-09-19T13:26:33.983-07:00Question for 5:52 why is it that some people get a...Question for 5:52 why is it that some people get along, and others don't? I don't know Ben personally, but if he was such a wonderful businessman, and I am not talking human being here, why has he bounced around from Medtronic, Therics, Theken and now Amedica? Heaven knows that there are people that don't like TSB. Yet, I don't whine like a little girl. Don't be so thin skinned, this is a ruthless business, that has a lot of testosterone running around. I am curious to see the clinical data for their products including ALIF, which has a very small lateral wall thickness that could lead to asymmetric subsidence. Do they offer stand-alone SiN ALIF? Probably not, since the brittle nature of ceramic may not allow the integration of Ti screws into a practical design concept. One case of clinical failure may cause a “rethinking” of the technology.
