  3. Craig Corrance???

He is the perfect foil to Jud Carlson!!

Talk about the usual suspects! McAfee, Cappucino, Yuan, Hochschuler, Geisler, Kalfas--I'm torn between nicknaming it the "Cruise Ship of Fools" or "The Biggest Little Whorehouse in Boca"!!

  4. These people have no shame!

An embarassment to the industry--and that's saying something!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hasn't Jud been involved in five start ups? Isn't his claim to fame selling ANS to St. Jude for $1.3 billion? So let's see thats a 1 for 5 batting average and it looks like DMT makes him 1 for 6. Why would any one give this vaudeville act any more money, especially if the founders are willing to give up some of their shares in a private placement? Penn and Teller? Starsky and Hutch? Ben and Jerry? All they need is a third sidekick and we could dub them the three stooges.

  6. Corrance is a parasite. He identifies weak companies managed by fools and latches on to suck as much cash out of them as possible before moving to the next host.

May he do his work swiftly at DMT.

He isn't nearly as incompetent or stupid as those who hire him.

A nasty but necessary part of the spine industry ecosystem.

  7. What is it about this guy and the bullshit he sells based on his lackluster record!? There are so many other less known talent out there are people that desperate.

  9. Carlson while sporting his "Mobil 1 hairdo" never was involved in the ANS/St. Jude Transaction. What do the 5 companies above have in common? They are all faded memories if not forgotten memories. Who are they?

    ReplyDelete
  10. TSB, The connection to this company through your "friend" is blatantly obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 3:06 What exactly did TSB say to offend you?

  12. I actually thought the Sunday's funnies were funny, LOL

  13. I would like to invest $5 million in this company so when all is said and done they could have burned thru $13 million. As the Dire Straits once sang: look at them yo yo's that's the way to do it, that ain't working thats the way you do it, money for nothing and chicks for free.

  14. Spineless jellyfish Take your device and put it in the spine museum exhibit for products destined for failure and include the surgeons pictures that backed this project.

  15. Craig Corrance brings a combined 24 years experience in the Orthopaedic and Spinal products field from both the US and Europe. Prior to joining Disc Motion Technologies in November 2010 Craig was the President and CEO of Applied Spine Technologies. Mr. Corrance has served in President/CEO roles with Centinel Spine, Altiva Corporation and Scient’x USA, where he was instrumental in developing and commercializing companies from start-up positions.

  17. Instrumental? This person wouldn't know an instrumental if he were listening to one. Developing and commercializing? You must be kidding. Where are those companies today? Out of business, for sale, out of money. Do we need to make a list? What does this say about Disc Motion? Desperation. What is it about this industry hiring the same people over and over expecting different results? Like Crazy Eddie use to say, This industry is totally INSANE. Wasn't he supposed to be the savior at Applied Spine? The prosecution rests.

  18. The question shoud be,,, What do Craig Corrance & David Blaine have in common??

    ReplyDelete
  19. If you know the players involved, you are well aware that this is no regular spine company. They are actually filming a reality show.

    ReplyDelete
  20. do they have roles for Doug Daniels and Lew Bennett?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Let's not give Lew a hard time. He made a lot of contributions when he was in his prime and deserves the credit for them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Let's not give Feel Like A Million Lew a hard time, considering he is a nasty old man who has stepped on enough of people along the way. Just ask some former Danek people. It's time to retire the old boy to the pasture.

Uh oh, looks like MDT is up to their elbows again. Let's see how the wiggle around this one.....

Might be worth a separate blog MM..

  24. And slick Billy Hawkins has suddenly decided to take a hike. That INFUSE lawsuit must be getting close!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Lew did not suffer fools or bad salespeople. I am an old former Danek dinosour.

It might be time for him to retire now but he did not help build companies by hanging onto dead wood and he would send someone packing if they were not pulling there weight.

    ReplyDelete
  26. How did this post segue into a discussion about Lew Bennett?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I too worked with Lew at Danek..and his role was only to conduct his famous "Office Evaluation/Effiency Seminars", which he tried to rope us into doing. I agree with MM...enough about L.B. Next topic.

  28. regarding the wsj article... mdt wants this to get out and wants to price crunch and wants to get rid of all you little wanna be players... its beautiful how they trick the public...

  29. 3:28 please explain your logic??

  30. Bye Bye Bill Hawkins. How's the Kyphon acquisition looking now? Good riddance.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Alex Lukianov should be the next CEO to go. Perhaps he & Bill go start another venture together.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Surely Alex and Bill would want Craig to join them, with all that he brings to the table!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yes,, great point 5:49,, perhaps they could call themselves "The A,B,C's of how NOT to run a spine company".

Heck, add David Paul and you could have the "A,B,C,& D's of how NOT to do it",,,

    ReplyDelete
  34. Don't forget Earl Fender. A,B,C,D & E!!!

  35. An early poster had a great observation which I quote for truth:

"Corrance is a parasite. He identifies weak companies managed by fools and latches on to suck as much cash out of them as possible before moving to the next host."

This is indeed correct, but Corrance is by no means alone in having this strategy. This industry is unfortunately full of this brand of parasite. These are execs who sell themselves to the highest bidder and promise to bring riches to gullible management who either don't know better or have no choice.

We all know who they are. Hopefully one day the industry will get wise, note these guys for who they are and run far far away.

  36. Hey John N (MSM), your preoccupation with smearing Craig Corrance has gone from the sublime to the subliminal. Is it personal?

Let's recap these 5, shall we.....

    1) Scient'x: Over 13 mill of Healthpoint $$ disappears into Olivier (Carli) world.

    2) Altiva: Successfully sold to Exactech (Gee, sounds terrible MSM)

    3) Centinel: Viscogliosi boys inform Corrance after accepting job that Centinel actually has no $$ and a $60 Mill raise is needed.

    4) Applied Spine: 1/2 way thru Clinicals, FDA puts on shelf due to screw breakage (gripblast design approved by previous CEO)

There are far more horrendous track records out there. Between Corrance and Abdelgany (Custom spine), you just can't let go, can you John???
    Give it a break......

    ReplyDelete
  37. As a observer when something goes south its always someone else's fault, by the way Tony V doesn't need Corrance to raise $$$, get serious. This blog is truly inhabited by some cry babies.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mahmoud Abdelgany, now there's a real CEO. I worked with that clown at Stryker. LOL.

  39. @ (January 5, 2011) 6:19 PM, couldn't agree with you more.....I have worked in a company where Craig was involved.....he is taking up positions in companies that everyone else has given up on, and is definitely trying to do what he can.........Is he making money on the way ? Sure he is, as he should be....and given all the cry babies here, would they be willing to step at a "no hope left" juncture and try to do something about it ? Probably not, cos see, their "reputation" will be on the line....oh wait, they probably won't be offered the position anyways, cos they lack the experience and connections that the so called parasite has.....let the man and his pink tie be...amen.
