The last two days have been terrible for the biggest and baddest cheetah in the jungle. The hunter has become the hunted. The predator has become the victim. Even the performance that Vanilla Ice had last night has not provided NuVa with a respite. Who knows maybe he can save the company by coming in a leveraging more money against NuVa's balance sheet, take out his management fees, and then sell off the company? Maybe David Paul may be interested, he has been dubbed the new king of the jungle, hasn't he? Looks like NuVasive is going down faster than Marilyn Chambers ever did. Alex's sphincter must be pretty tight considering that he is starting to run out of excuses. POD's affecting his top line? Come on, that's another excuse, big boy. Maybe he can blame Obama for the current environment that we are all learning to adapt to. You know what Axl Rose use to say;
Welcome to the Jungle we've got fun and games, we've got everything you want Alex we know all the names, We are the people that can find whatever you may need , If you got the money honey we got your disease. Can anyone spell SHORT?
You can only bullshit for so long!!! At the end of the day the numbers are the numbers
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Down 33%? You mean a company that pays reps good money to stand around in the OR all day placing leads on patients in the hopes of being thrown a (synthetic) bone is not making money? Go figure!
ReplyDeleteGood one. Clearly, you do not have a clue.
DeleteNot a clue at all. 20 year veteran; sales up in a down market. True that, not a clue...clearly.
DeleteSpeaking "sales up in a down market", NuVasive actually grew its revenue by about 11% in Q3 even though it missed its forecasted revenue number. Did your company grow by 11% in Q3 Mr. Fancy Pants 20-year Veteran?
DeleteTSB, thanks for stealing my G&R take in the previous post! HA!
ReplyDeleteI was gunna help you out with that comment, but you beat me to it!
Delete11:51 Is that you Axl? MSM didn't know that you left the Rock n' Roll World to comment on a Spine Blog. Spoke to Slash last night told me Alex's sphincter was tighter than a G-String on a banjo. Rock On!
DeleteCigarette sales going through the roof in the northeast. Even after all of the "A Players" have moved on, still run by the same few pathetic lemmings.
ReplyDeleteGlobus had 30% growth in 3rd quarter. Nuva can wonder no more...
ReplyDeleteSo what is the secret to their "success"? Novel products? IP? Stellar sales force? Management? Leadership?
DeleteWhat makes them so different in your eyes that would categorize them as the best spine company?
What are they doing that is so different to make them stand out as the industry example?
I am eager to learn how to to be so successful.
Globus screws are breaking in MI... More than one hospital and one surgeon..
ReplyDeletethats only in MI because the waters bad there.
DeleteJust 1 doc in my area has had 3 pseudo's within the past year from Globus' awful expandable TLIF. Can you say FAIL?
DeleteStress shielding.
DeleteHad a surgeon using the tlif and xlif expandable cages, when they came out. Pseudo after pseudo and a few cages migrating around.... Ridiculous implant that has zero benefit to patients.
DeleteScrews breaking? Expandables collapsing?
ReplyDeleteBoth!!
DeleteGlobus is pretty good , they just steal ideas and copy products they have no legal rights to.
ReplyDeleteThey manufacture all their products in India. It's one step above the shit coming out of China.
ReplyDeleteHow do you figure India makes better shit than China? Don't get me wrong, both produce some pretty shitty stuff, but India is by far the most inferior of the two. The country has no infrastructure, a blatantly corrupt government (Indian politicians don't even try to hide their corrupt dealings), and a much less skilled workforce.
DeleteJP Timm- tick tock tick tock!!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that....
DeleteI am as anxious as anyone to see him go, but what does JP have to do with NuVa? New SVP of US Commercial Ops at ATEC. How does this affect SL?

DeleteNuvasive has been "smoke and mirrors" for a long time. Now they are blaming their poor performance on anything other than themselves. It's sad, pathetic, and weak to see this unfold. Take a closer look..all top mangement keep granting thmeselves stock options, and they exercise those options. They are raping the company blind, but no one seems to pay attention. Do your homework, and see what's really going on. Let's see if a NUVA insider cares to comment on that!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to corporate America!
We all know what happened... Lanx paid a bunch of Nuvasive folks in Tx and NOLA to convert and some bit. Also, Cappaccino chased after the pay day as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a group of Doc's in eastern New York are now sipping Cappuccinos.
DeleteActually that reference is more accurate than I meant it to be.
The funniest line from the Alex press release is that they are loosing business from 'Agressive Sales Tactics'.
ReplyDeleteSo, they are getting their asses handed to them in the Sales arena ?
I'm am laughing my MuthaEffing Azz off.
That's corporate speak for "Globus and Lanx are illegally poaching all of our sales reps and surgeons." He can't come right out and say it because it might negatively impact the ongoing lawsuits being levied against both companies.
DeleteWhatever happened to Paradigm Spine and Coflex PMA approval?
ReplyDeleteAny update on Paradigm would be awesome.
DeleteI saw the letter that went out to the dumb shits/surgeon investors in Phygen. It turns out Alphatec will be making royalty payments on top of the 15 million. The payments will be made and distributed to the members. This sounds like Alphatec is trying to find a legal way to pay these surgeons to use their products. Any surgeon that is not a member and using Alphatec may be putting money in the pockets of Phygen surgeons. I am sure that will go over well.
ReplyDeleteAfter lowering its top-line forecast for the third quarter by only 4.5 percent Wednesday, orthopedic device manufacturer NuVasive (NASDAQ:NUVA) lost a third of its market value. Shares in the company fell 33 percent to $15.22, the greatest decline in company history.
ReplyDeleteSales were hurt by competitor discounts, increased delays, and denials of coverage by insurers, said the device maker. Spinal fusion devices, which account for 60 percent of the company’s revenue, were hit hardest. Furthermore, the company saw 14 sales representatives depart since July, lured to competitors by higher salaries.
“We experienced an unexpected sequential decline in the third quarter due to unusually high account churn related primarily to the growth of surgeon participation in physician-owned distributorships and to increasingly aggressive competitive tactics,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alex Lukianov.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Cry us a river Alex.
for NuVasive this was bound to happen. Alex and Co. have been using inventory magic to make their margins look better for a while now. As well, cutting the vast majority of Surgeon consultants did not go over very well. Most of the Pay to Play guys found other homes willing to give up the dough (Lanx/Styker/Globus/ETC). You can not point the finger at one particular thing, but the list is long.
ReplyDeleteThe market has changed Alex, you are not the all powerful oracle. It may be time to either step down or put some people in place that actually WORK in the current market.
The Product Mangers. Who are these people? Glorified Mini Sales people? When it takes this long to come out with a good percutaneous system, you have a BIG problem. One of the reasons Globus does so well, is the fact they have the highest number of engineers in the business, perhaps only second to Medtronic. When your marketing people have no clue on other systems i.e. if someone has directional stimulation, it is time to make a change! Here is an idea, get rid of the marketing/product people and hire engineers. They bring much more to the table than your current team.
RVP/AVP/ETC.. Who are these guys? Speaking to a "friend" who works for NuVasive, these guys do zero to impact business. Most are glorified accountants and pie chart managers. Please send some more of those emails about what PTQ (What Sales Representative does not know what their PTQ is at?) is and what kind of prize we get! I enjoy reading those while the NuVa rep shakes his head. When your RVP/AVP/ETC. has not visited a territory that he CONTROLS for 2+ years, it is time to find a new guy! Pull up their travel from their assistants, if they have not even visited their respected territories, send them packing. By the way, how do these guys need assistants?
Costs. It is way to easy to beat NuVasive on cost, it is comical. Most Surgeons are now hospital employed. Most hospitals can steer the Surgeons on product choices based on cost. Perhaps bring down the costs of your disposables or make alternative non disposable equipment and boom, your back in the game.
Game Changers. Come up with real game changers. I know, easier said then done, but come on MAS TLIF? MAS PLIF? Just reading those brochures makes me laugh. Come up with a REAL solution to neuro monitoring, that makes it quantifiable safer and your in the game! More than your "Hunting Algorithm".
So in short: Get rid of your AVP/RVP/ETC. Find candidates that are selling in the market today. Get rid of your marketing/product managers, instead hire engineers that actually bring something to the table. Drive costs down on implants and disposables. Come up with real game changers. Put your jock strap on, this market is aggressive! IF your using that as an excuse for not making your number, your truly behind. At the point the top is fixed, you can start looking at the players on the street.
One thing they do well on is the company surgeon labs. Keep your money in those activities. The XLIF team that travels the country seems to pretty good too.
Globus PD is just a copy machine, fast and cheap.
DeleteNuvasive has been "smoke and mirrors" for a long time. Now they are blaming their poor performance on anything other than themselves. It's sad, pathetic, and weak to see this unfold. Do your homework, and see what's really going on. Let's see if a NUVA insider cares to comment on that!
ReplyDeleteNUVA biologics are being unmasked as the joke that they are. We have surgeons that used Osteocell, and have had terrible results. Can't fool everyone forever!!!
ReplyDeleteNuvasive fired their top distributor in Las Vegas. She was let go, and all her sales people were hired directly by Nuvasive. If she was doing so badly, why hire her team? They only cut her out of the picture..sounds illeagal to me!
ReplyDeleteFunny how Alex's lapdog Robin Young does not report anything on E-vasive when the things go south in Cheetah Land, oh by the way, don't step on the purple carpet at NASS this year you do not want anyone to be banished
ReplyDeleteHow low will they go? Can I hear $11 dolls
ReplyDeleteThey have become increasingly disfunctional for the past couple of years and i believe leadership arrogance will continue to drag them down and resist change. marketing can only get you so far. he IOM company that was purchased 12 months ago has also helped pick up revenue and hide the slide. Now those numbers are 12 months out and can't be viewed as growth. Precept is a blatant IP infringement and will become a massive liability if sales are anything close to significant. On and on and on. The "culture" is now fake and forced. Time to circle the wagons boys. I'm sure something "creative" will help them bounce back a little in q4... But then more lawsuits and legal battles... Those cost mucho $.
ReplyDeleteNuvasive's share price lost 33% in the last 2 days?
ReplyDeleteHOCKADOO!!

Where are all the arrogant Cheetahs today? Are their tails jammed up their a**e*? As TSB once said will they ever hit 18.65? Here today, gone tomorrow
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect time to be acquired. Who will make the move and buy the big purple while they are flaccid.
ReplyDeleteNutronic????
DeleteFlaccid maybe Alex, Keith et al, need Viagra, on second thought cheetahs don't roar they chirp, maybe the cheetahs need time to recover, now that they are at their most vulnerable, by the way cheetahs don't have a long life span, Great PR firm, dubbing Nuvasive Cheetah Nation
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how many jerk off's pipe in once things actually go south for NuVasive. If you actually looked into their crystal ball, you would know they have actually raised the level of the spine industry, given lateral fusion the "Gold Standard" now for lumbar fusions, and keep delivering great product after product. I guess it's easy rooting against a winner, when you've had your as* handed to you by NuVasive over the past 5 years...and you know I'm right MDT/Stryker/Depuythes reps.
ReplyDelete"Nuvasive...raised the level of the spine industry..."
DeleteWow, Timothy Leary would be proud of the Kool Aid you drink.
See you on the streets boy.
Lateral is the "Gold Standard?" You are hilarious. Once payors figure out how many guys are treating spinal stenosis with XLIF followed by perc screws we are up the creek. Not to mention all the XLIFs with perc screws that go on to nonunion or get an iatrogenic deformity that most surgeons can not treat.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have a clue! Yeah gold standard, interbody of choice for many! Who else is innovating right now in the spine world? Keep hating boys.
DeleteThis is boring. Lets get back to JP Timm. He's more fun to talk about. No one, even Di*k Kuyper has brought the value of that stock down more than that pompous a-hole. Dysfunctional R&D team and all he does is bring crappy products to the market, if they even last on the market before getting pulled off.
ReplyDeleteSend him on his way...over to NUVA!!!
The XLIF is a good option for a small number of patients. But the majority of cases will be L5-s1 and the XLIF doesn't work out that low. Nuva has an awesome expandable corpectomy system but is still lacking. They need a good PEEK zero profile cervical option. They also need to slim down their MIS TLIF rectractor to stay competitive with second gen big boy designs like Depuys Viper. Their bag is getting a little shallow. Also, several hospitals want nothing to do with their sega genesis Neuromonitoring system.
ReplyDeleteNuVasive has an awesome "PEEK zero profile cervical option". It's called Interlock. NuVasive also has a great option for L5-S1; ALIF!! It also has some really great TLIF options. What are you selling for L5-S1 that isn't ALIF or TLIF? Oh you're selling an interspinous process plate with allograft? Yup, NuVasive has that too, and they had it long before you did.
DeleteDoes it take 20 trays like all your other products? NuVasive systems are bloated and inefficient. I love listening to hospitals bitching about the 25 trays they bring in for an XLIF. That business model will bankrupt the company.
DeleteWhat does Nuvasive have that is great for L5-S1 ALIF? Clearly not their standalone. That thing is a POS.
DeleteI did an XLIF the other day with four trays. You're an idiot. Supplemental fixation may require 4 more. MAS TLIF for L5-S1 is the best mini-TLIF system on the market hands down. DBR is unmatched for posterior fixation on a one level. L5-S1 device is comparable to any other and instrumentation is essentially flawless. You hate these products because they make you consistently lose market share.
DeleteI am calling BS on 4 trays! I work at NUVA and regularly have 18 trays for a lateral case. Maybe on a rare occasion we only open 4 but the additional 14 are in the hallway. I am just being honest.
DeleteThe word is in light of the disastrous quarter the hammer has come down on JR

JP Timm is more ego than brain (a lot more). R/D is a shell game for him. Have another drink JP, this one is on me.
ReplyDeleteIt seems as though JP's broken jaw hasn't healed properly since New Orleans or his ego.
ReplyDeleteNUVA needs to be taken private, management replaced, and then when they are turned around by good management at reasonable compensation they go public again. Bingo, that's how this should work. Where is Bain capital? Alex , and Pat have lived too large and pocketed too much. Time to go boys.
ReplyDeleteThey are ripping off the comopany with their stock options. Do the research!
Delete"it has lost 14 sales representatives since July to competitors that guaranteed salaries between $600,000 and $1 million".
ReplyDeleteNow that salary is ridiculous. There is something wrong for the industry to make that happen.
Sales is not about salary. It's about commissions. Get it straight-in the form of commissions; earn it baby!
ReplyDeleteThe commissions are getting killed by hospitals ....what's going to happen to the spine rep....what's the next best move.....because it's only going to get worse for us...
ReplyDeleteI agree. there will still be a need for reps but for most cases we will go by the wayside. Keeping my eye's open for options.
DeleteThis is a dying business. If a clean FDA will starts approving the good ADRs, Ozone and DiscGel and the regenerative methods a big chunk of the spine business will be gone. 50%? Your industry depends on trauma, degenerative disease and trauma that leads to degenerative disease ADRs, ozone, DiscoGel, nucleus implants and regenerative medicine all address those issues in a cost effective manner. Multiple surgeries will be a thing of the past as will failed most back surgery syndrome which is a huge mney maker for the entire industry. Your industry is trying to hang on and exploit spinal disease for all it's worth but those days are quickly coming to an end. The hardware you sell be be as obsolete as the horse & buggy. The technology is already here.
DeleteBeing a naive spine surgeon what is going on? Does Nuvasive pay a lot of "consulting" arrangements in the guise of a POD? What's happening with the company?

He should have his bag packed...who is he giving reach arounds to at the home office?
Deletewhat is all the rage at CNS?
ReplyDeleteJR gone......shocker!!!!
ReplyDeleteCNS and rage in the same sentence! Ha! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhoever 6:05 was, is just an idiot and really shouldn't be allowed to post comments, you are fu£*k^ng retarded. Anyone who has seen lateral fusion, and every other company is copying it, knows there is no equal. You must be still selling ALIF, oh wait, can you say 90's cage rage. Give me a break. Grow the hell up, and realize the spine industry has passed you by my juvenile friend.

ReplyDeleteWhy do people keep posting this? Product is dead. FDA said it sucks.
DeleteThanks a ton for posting this, I discovered it extremely informative, and it answered most from the concerns I had.
ReplyDeleteMore Nuvasive News. I wonder if this has anything to do with the earnings/stock decline :)
ReplyDeleteThe Company also announced the resignation of Jeff Rydin, President of Global Sales, which will be fully effective March 31, 2013. All U.S. sales responsibilities will be assumed by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alex Lukianov and all international sales responsibilities will be assumed by Russell Powers, who is newly promoted to Executive Vice President of International.
Alex Lukianov, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Jeff has been an important member of the senior executive team and we are all supporting him in his decision to transition from the Company. His hard work and dedication throughout the years to build our global sales force will continue to pay dividends as we move forward. I am excited that Jeff has agreed to a long-term consulting position and will continue to work with members of the executive team for several years."
Jeff Rydin, President of Global Sales, said, "My decision to leave NuVasive was very difficult. NuVasive has become and always will be my family. I have been contemplating this for months and discussing my departure with my family and Alex. In the end, this decision is best for me and my family. I am extremely grateful to Alex and the entire management team for supporting me during this process. Moreover, I am excited to execute a smooth transition and continue contributing for years to come as a consultant to the company. I thank the entire NuVasive family for building a company that is by far the best in spine. NuVasive has truly changed spine surgery through innovation, speed, great service and a very special culture that is alive and well. And last but not least, a special thank you to our Global Sales force."
Mr. Lukianov added, "We will immediately begin a search for Jeff's replacement and in the interim, I will leverage my many years of experience executing sales strategies and leading sales forces like I did during my time at Medtronic Sofamor Danek as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and then later as President of U.S.A. While there for six years, I built the sales force and grew MSD to the #1 market share position through a culture focused on innovation and responsiveness. My added interim direct reports are two Senior Vice Presidents of US Sales (West and East) and Senior Vice President of Sales Operations. I am also extremely pleased that Russell Powers will be stepping in to lead our international growth efforts as our Executive Vice President of International reporting directly to me. For the last two years, Russell has been focused on both the product marketing, development, and operations areas of our business. He is now ready to leverage his years of experience while at Medtronic Sofamor Danek. During his tenure there, he held many leadership roles including Vice President of International Spinal and Biologics where his responsibilities included international sales, marketing and development, as well as global operations. Russell is very experienced and well-versed in all international markets with a strong history of prior successes."
Ahhh....the Soviet Politburo excuse: "resigned to spend time with my family" or "resigned for reasons of health"....Alex ain't forgot his roots.
DeleteQ2 earnings were released end of July (25th). At that time Alex was 1 month into Q3 so all of these "dynamics" should have been known by then but he wanted to be a big shot and raised guidance by $10M. This miss was only $5M, half of the increased guidance. This is all on him. 1/3 into the quarter he did not know his sales force was leaving & POD's were around? Time to clean house, starting with him.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. He has turned and burned multiple VP's of Sales over the past 10 years starting with Rick Simmons way back when. He needs to take ownership and stop bragging about his medtronic day's when there was limited competition.
DeleteRick Simmons was a joke! Look at his track recors at tranS1..enough said!
DeleteGood point! He does have such a Napoleon complex.
DeleteThe Emperor Has No Clothes! At this point he has all his cash, he's cashed in on the golden goose, smoke and mirrors
ReplyDeleteWord is Synthes has assumed the majority of leadership roles at jnj. In the SW, the strong Depuy rep was forced out for Synthes clowns. Truly hilarious, but is this a one off instance or is there any truth Synthes guys protecting their own all over?
ReplyDeleteI have seen a bit of both. DePuy VP's stayed in place in the west. However, there are a lot of good reps at synthes and part of the purchase was for the sales force.
DeleteAre you f'in kiddin me? Does Rydin have the health records of all Alex"s girlfriends???? "On October 5, 2012, we entered into a letter agreement with Mr. Rydin in connection with his resignation as President, Global Sales of the Company. Pursuant to the agreement Mr. Rydin will remain as President, Global Sales of the Company through March 31, 2013 at his current salary and benefits. Mr. Rydin will not be eligible for a bonus under the Company's 2012 Executive Performance Bonus Program or for performance-based restricted stock units under the Company's 2012 Long Term Incentive Plan. Mr. Rydin will transition to a consultant role for the Company on April 1, 2013 at which time he will be paid consulting fees for approximately 20 hours of work per week as follows: $38,500 per month (through September 30, 2014); $10,000 per month (through September 30, 2015); and $5,000 per month (through September 30, 2016). Mr. Rydin's previously granted equity awards will continue to vest so long as Mr. Rydin is providing services to the Company under the consulting agreement."
ReplyDeletei want that deal, does he have pictures of the bear or what? 17 x 38,500 = a lot of cash now there's a great way to spend the shareholders money. Alex is taking over sales, Rydin stays on as a paid consultant and everyone is happy, happy, happy. Where is the BOD?
DeleteThis is a JOKE!! Are they serious? Consulting? WTF is he going to consult on when he is getting fired. Yeah right, retiring? No wonder the company is in the tank. No accountability. Just a good ol boy club taking care of it's own. I can guarantee none of the RSD's that used to be there had any type of parachute. No surprise spine is in such trouble.

Groundhog day at Paradigm Spine
Rydin leaving will have zero affect on the company's ability to continue to innovate and provide solid minimally disruptive solutions. If Alex, a former XLIF patient, self starter and passionate CEO wants to work harder in the interim in order to turn around the market's ill conceived perception then there is nothing wrong with that. Its a bold and smart move and speaks volumes about what he believes in. The comments on this blog are large in part from reps who have lost market share over and over again to NuVasive as well as disgruntled managers who have been passed over for positions with Nuva. This market is undergoing a correction. Nuva is the pinnacle of innovation in this league and innovation gets stifled during corrections. Once this correction passes, Mitt is in the White House, and Obamacare is squashed the Cheetah will rise again sipping a purple kool aid bourbon with a smirk of sweet victory. Onward and upward!
ReplyDeletehahahahahahahaha!!!
DeleteDared to include a Kool Aid reference.
DeleteYes, the XLIF was innovative but now there are several companies with very good lateral options and it is debatable which one is the best. XLIF may still be the leader but the gap is closing quickly.
ReplyDeleteAlex has lost the credibility of the Street. The analysts are mocking his excuses of the sudden appearance of POD's and the aggressive tactics of competitors. As much as I dislike Globus, they have replaced NUVA as the sexy new spine company. The best thing for NUVA is for the board to come to its senses and kick Alex out. At that point, they may be an attractive acquisition target.
Globus sexy? What is sexy about a copycat solution? What is sexy about hiring family members of surgeons to distribute products. The company, the culture, the leadership stinks of greed and unethical business. There is nothing sexy about Globus with the exception of a short position. The company will not continue to thrive. Going public was the only thing that company could do to hold on. XLIF and the clinical support it represents will always make it the leader. There is no other procedure where this can be more true. If you kick Alex out you will lose the passion and culture of NuVasive. The company will fall and there will be nothing left. Huge mistake. POD's have affected all of us especially in the west. There are also numerous examples in the east where this has happened. To say that it is not in the thorn of any legitimate company's side who refuses to go down that path is just turning your head. That is the even bigger problem.
DeleteIs Nuvasive trying to say that they don't hire Surgeons family members??? They had Dr. Huttsman's bother-in-law as their distributor in Utah for years! C'mon..who are you guys trying to kid?
Delete10:12- POD's just showed up in the last few months? Are you serious? When you buy your business, guess what happens when a higher bidder shows up?
ReplyDeleteYou said that NUVA will fail if Alex gets kicked out. Who, in their right mind, would invest in/ acquire a company like that? House of cards...
Where does 10:12 say the POD's just showed up in the last few months?
DeleteNUVA's 'Dear Leader' said it. Here is a quote from the analyst call:
ReplyDeleteChairman and CEO Alex Lukianov commented on the warning, "We experienced an unexpected sequential decline in the third quarter due to unusually high account churn related primarily to the growth of surgeon participation in physician-owned distributionships and to increasingly aggressive competitive tactics.
And he probably said it with a straight face. Smart investors were not fooled and quickly dumped the stock.
He said it increased. Not that it just showed up in the last few months. You're a fool. Distorting words for personal gain is inappropriate. Market makers sell on news good or bad, that is what they do. They dumped the stock and will buy it back again as NuVa reports continued market gains. Brokers get paid on the sell and buy.
Delete7:02 (Alex)- Nice try at defending the lies. Globus and Lanx are using your playbook and kicking your butt. Fact is they both have better lateral solutions- ask Cappucino. Red light/ green light isn't going to save you. POS circling the bowl.
ReplyDeleteThat just won't get through. Maybe this will:
DeleteNUVA: Sales ~$600M, Market Cap $640M
GMED: Sales ~$400M, Market Cap $1.56B
So we should ask someone who is a paid consultant to give us his opinion on who has a better lateral? Let me ask you this...what lateral school did he attend? XLIF University? Exactly. Why recruit Cappucino? Because he went to XLIF school? Because he needed money? Ask the reps of those companies why they are scared to death to cover these cases. Because they are not trained. One trained surgeon does not make you an expert on this procedure. Copying is the highest form of flattery...nuff said.
DeleteNuva sales $600 million. Profit under $10 million and they carry debt of $150 million
ReplyDeleteGmed sales $400 million Profit around $30 million and Zero debt.
You do the math and see why the street likes Gmed more.
I'm in the OR, not on the street. Its a veil and behind GMED is a copycat solution that pays their users. Soon the ball will drop and the street will be left holding it, not management...I would be very careful.
ReplyDeletehow many surgeon consultants can Globus have? How can they have surgeons designing product after product, how can they keep paying all these surgeons to "trial" and give their opinions on their products, it seems all they do is get surgeons on board by paying them. it seems sooner or later they would get investigated, Of course i have been saying that for years now. they do not play fair and its too bad all the companies dont have the ability to "pay" their surgeons the way globus does...
ReplyDeleteGood question. My best guess would be that the rumors of them paying everyone are probably exaggerated. I mean they've got some different stuff that seems sexy. I doubt they're really paying as many surgeons as we all accuse. No doubt they've got a lot of design team surgeons, but we all have a tendency to exaggerate and make excuses as to why we don't have somebody's business.
DeleteNuva did a good job introducing lateral. Problem for them is that you can't patent an approach, just like TLIF, ALIF, et al. There is nothing special or proprietary about them except for their weird fascination with the color purple and the cult-like culture based on their worship of the russian Buddha. Globus, Lanx and the IP lawsuits are killing them.
ReplyDeleteDid Orthofix work with that Kyle Webb? The crook who's scamming Phygen and running another PI & WC scam with Tim Brahm, CEO of bioD.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the super team of crooks?
I heard Webb has some workmans comp scam going on. But I'm not sure if Orthofix is dumb enough to touch that trash.
DeleteI did hear Phygen was at war with him.
Kyle Webb is a criminal and a complete tool. He tells everyone he builds and sells spine companies! He is a con artist and I would love to see him investigated.
DeleteI heard the same thing when he was at Blackstone! It's amazing how these snakes keep surfacing at new companies.
DeleteTim Brahm hits on female employes of the companies Bio D works with and generally makes an ass of himself. Kyle Webb is another beauty. His skill set begins and ends with buying business from surgeons on the take. Whatever he is working on now is some form of that same scam for sure. He builds and sells spine companies? ROFLMAO. Dudes gonna run out of bridges to burn sooon enough.
DeleteYeah, he's paying c-practs to send their px's to his POD guys... A angle on an angle...
ReplyDeleteTim Brahm is the devil
ReplyDeleteNuvasive's upper management are a bunch of lying thieves!
ReplyDeleteDon't just throw that out there, dish the dirt!!
ReplyDeleteSo Trans1 in China? Butt screw those Chinese and look for "Made in USA" on the x-rays!
ReplyDeleteDid Jeff Rydin resign or did the Bear force his hand?
ReplyDeleteC'mon, the Bear made the move for the market, and provided the very soft landing for Rydin. Either way NUVA is sliding down.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should change my name to nostrodamus. You pinners couldn't see this coming because you are all a bunch of cattle. Maybe sheep. Somehow, you livestock think you own the range, but you are really being fatted for slaughter. NUVA is a disaster.
ReplyDeleteI guess Rydin wasn't the stud I though he was. Maybe I should have realized that anyone that hires a barnyard, pork-bellied, wine-o like Terry Rich has to have his judgement questioned.
Suck it NUVA...Rydin, not even all those baseball bats could get you a base hit when you really needed it.
Wow. Such hate. Sorry you're having a bad day brah. Hope it gets better. In the meantime, I'll continue taking your market share. Suck my cheetah
Deletethanx nice post!
